Why Sigma Chi?

The fundamental purpose of the Sigma Chi Fraternity is the cultivation, maintenance and promotion of our core values of friendship, justice and learning.

Brotherhood:

We have one of the strongest brotherhoods on campus. Each of us shares a set of common ideals based on the betterment of oneself, which is engrained in the ideals of Sigma Chi and personal growth.

Diversity

We have one of the most diverse brotherhoods on campus with 12 languages spoken and 23 different majors.

Social Life

Sigma Chi provides a diverse social calendar that includes mixers, tailgates, date parties, club nights, and formals.

Philanthropy

This year we are starting a new philanthropy called Wrap Up Michigan, a program designed to provide blankets to the needy. Additionally, we participate in: UMDM, Relay for Life, Car Bash, Go Blue Beat OSU, DP Day, blood drives and other campus-wide events. Sigma Chi chapters all over the country have raised millions of dollar for Children's Miracle Network as our national philanthropy.

Networking

Sigma Chi has the largest alumni network in the country with more living alumni than any other fraternity. Our alumni work in all fields and Sigma Chi International provides a Sigma Chi only job posting site.

Leadership Building

Sigma Chi provides numerous opportunities for leadership experience both at a chapter and national level. Each year, the chapter sends motivated individuals to national leadership workshops held by Sigma Chi. This summer, we sent eight members to workshops held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Snowbird, Utah.

Sports

We are competitive in all IM sports and our brothers include Division 1, all-american, and varsity athletes.

Academic Excellence

Our Beta pledge class had the number one overall GPA on campus. We also provide, as a fraternity, academic resources such as study nights with food and a class history database from older brothers.

Scholarships

Sigma Chi International offers $2.5 million in scholarships available to worthy brothers. Our chapter offers scholarships worth $5,000 for in-house brothers.
